It's snowing and bloody chilly....and tomorrow we leave our accommodation at 03:30!!....remind me why do I do this...staying in a nice warm bed is definitely more appealing.....being coffee'd up to max is going to be required if I am to survive this holiday!
Afternoon of first day...picked up the rest of the group at the airport...11 Americans....us two Brits and a token Canadian......in addition to the usual bird chit chat...have had a high brow philosophical debate on why Brits don't get grits or biscuits (it's a bloody scone!) and for the yanks....what's with a game which lasts 5 days and you can play for a draw on day 3....ah that would be Cricket!
On the birding front today....detour through a military installation ...phoned ahead to ensure that we don't get shot at or pin pointed by drones.....how nice! Good days haul of birds. As always, I found myself plugged into my Ipod watching the world go by....resisted temptation to sing along to tunes...in order to avoid waking up occupants of bus.....it's a holiday of long drives!
Tomorrow...it's Lesser Prairie Chicken and a chuck wagon breakfast....I know what the former is...but absolutely no idea on the later!
